Last Rose...(of Summer)

It's well and truly autumn, but as we did get to Farmleigh this morning (again the car wouldn't start, so we were a bit later than planned) and got to see the exhibition of the Derek Hill Collection, that song title is in my mind. It was also the title of one of the paintings in the exhibition. More tomorrow...

I see just the faintest touch of pink along with those dew drops. I think that would be unnoticeable from a distance - I love that you take the time to find the details in things and not just the big picture. Don't get me wrong - landscapes are beautiful, but that's not all there is. I think a rose bush in bloom would pack a punch, but a single isolated blossom with such detail can be a knock out.
